For Editions #2 and #3 of So Fi Zine, Mark Carrigan edited a special section of drabbles. For Edition #4 of So Fi Zine Raewyn Connell also curated a special section of drabbles that responded to key themes of her work.
A drabble is a fiction vignette; a short story of exactly 100 words; a snippet scene of social life that allows us to detach moments from the narrative demands of longer pieces.
This special section is inspired by the work of Rob Kitchen, a Professor of Human Geography and a crime writer, who writes drabbles on his blog. Check out ‘Final notice‘, ‘I’m meant to be grateful?’, ‘She has to go‘, ‘Empty promises‘, ‘This has to stop‘, ‘Alienation‘, and ‘Home to vote‘.
