She Who is Many

This collage explores how women draw strength from one another by juxtaposing archetypes of femalehood – the mother, maiden, and crone as figures of power in myth and story – with modern images of women protesting male violence. The triple goddess embodies both reverence and fear, mirroring how women together have often been derided and feared – a theme that persists in contemporary responses to women protesting gendered violence. In the face of growing global misogyny, it suggests we must call on each other as sources of power and solidarity.

    Bound Together

This collage is composed from historical photographs and depictions of people deemed mentally ill. Through excessive layering, it evokes the ways institutions have historically incarcerated and controlled those regarded as unwell. At the same time, the motif of hands also suggests care and solidarity, with the possibility of mutual understanding between those marked as mad. In the face of continuing structural violence against people experiencing mental illness, mutual care remains vital.
